What happens when you put an APS-C lens on a full frame camera?

Your APS-C lenses are not wide enough to allow the whole full frame sensor to see through them. It will result in strong vignetting. For that reason, FF bodies have an APS-C mode that crops the image to get rid of that vignetting. Since it's cropped in 1.5x, you lose a bunch of megapixels.
