Pour some liquid starch in a cup, dip a brush in, and then paint it all over the wall you're going to cover. Press a piece of fabric against the wall, then paint more liquid starch over that. (Any that gets on your hands or the floor can be cleaned up with warm water afterwards.) Now just wait for it to dry.
