How to Take Shots. Tilt your head back as you raise the shot glass to your mouth. Continue tilting your head and the shot glass back as you swallow the liquor. Keep your jaw and throat relaxed so you can swallow the entire shot, and chase the shot with a sip of soda, juice, or beer.
