Most birding binoculars offer a magnification level between seven and ten power. A 7x42 binocular, for example, magnifies objects seven times (we'll get to the meaning of 42 later), and a 10x50 binocular magnifies objects ten times. For general birding, most experts agree that 7x or 8x is best for most birders.
