Boulevard du Temple. When speaking of rarities in a medium, it's hard to outdo the very first specimen, and that's the case in photography as well. This photograph by Louis Daguerre in 1838 is the first to include people. It is grainy and blurry, demonstrating photography at its most rudimentary form.
