Monitors on the cheaper end of the spectrum typically come with a 16:9 aspect ratio. This is fine for most people. However, photographers will benefit from the slightly larger workspace offered by a monitor with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Plus, 16:10 is a better fit for the classic 3:2 ratio of photos.
