For studying, it is suggested that warm or natural lighting produced by full spectrum light bulbs and LEDs is best as it increases readability and puts away all the ill effects of bad lighting. On the other hand, incandescent bulbs and CFLs are said to be too dingy and too harsh for studying, respectively.
