Not really. More mp means your lenses have to cope with more resolution, so any artefacts or focus issues will be more apparent. Most pictures nowadays as being viewed on screens (phones, pc's etc…) where resolution is kept at 1080p or 4k, so 2mp or 8mp are plenty.
