1/125 of a second is a good speed to aim for in a well-lit room. 2. Use a tripod for your set up. As the still life doesn't move, you have the luxury of using a slower shutter speed 1/60 or 1/30 and still getting the amount of light you're after even if the light conditions are quite dark.
