Subsequently, the Program underwent few changes; monthly allowance was raised to Tk. 350 in July 2009, and the Program was expanded to 4508 unions in 2011-12. Currently, there are 101,200 beneficiaries of maternity allowance program and once a woman is selected for this allowance, she receives benefit for two years.
