Tripods and Monopiles are shell structures. Their wall thickness is relatively small compared to the diameter. Therefore, they have to be proven in terms of shell buckling. The tower, central tube and legs are assembled of cylindrical or conical sections, cans, with an individual length of 2 to 4m.
