A 1080 with a Rift S isn't perfect, but it's a really nice VR experience. Of course a 4090 with an Aero would be loads better, but 1080 + Rift S is really fun. Whether it's preferable to a crisp monitor is up to you - I prefer VR, with its limitations, personally.
