The Galaxy S23 was one of the first phones to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 system on a chip (SoC). One way Samsung kept the cost of the S23 FE low was to use an older SoC, so it comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which was the top chip of 2022.
